Review, Preview, and Blankets of the Week (March 23)

BASEBALL: Baseball (9-2) went 3-0 last week with two division wins over South Panola and a non division win at IAHS. They’ll continue division play this week by host Grenada Tuesday and traveling to GHS Friday. THS will travel to Jackson this weekend when they play at Madison Central (noon) and Ridgeland (2 p.m) Saturday. All games this week will stream LIVE at

FAST-PITCH SOFTBALL: Last week, softball (6-8) lost to Smithville, Hernando, Saltillo, and Neshoba Central but defeated Oxford. THS will host New Hope (6:30 p.m.) Tuesday, travel to Batesville (6:30 p.m.) Friday, and host Mooreville (2:30) Saturday.

TENNIS: THS (3-1, 2-0) defeated Grenada and South Panola to open division play. JV also defeated Oxford Wednesday. They’ll host Hernando Tuesday and travel to Jackson this weekend. It features at Northwest Rankin (1 p.m.) and Madison Central ( 4 p.m.) Friday, and at the Newton County Tournament Saturday.

GOLF: Boys golf finished tied for second at the Beau Chene Classic in Covington (LA) yesterday. Missouri signee Hayden Buckley and Mississippi State University signee Austin Rose made the All-Tourney team. Both teams will host New Albany and Amory tomorrow at Natchez Trace golf course, and New Albany, Oxford, and Baldwyn Thursday at TCC.

ARCHERY: Saltillo archery defeated THS, 3260-3028. Tupelo’s top shooters were Trevor Bates-Webb and Sarah Barron.

TRACK: THS will travel to the Wildcat Invitational in Meridian Saturday.




  • Pitchers Carter Clayton (2-1), Hudson Roy (4-0), and Drew Hurst (2-1) all earned complete-game wins last week.
  • 9th grader Kendall Brooks had 10 hits in 13 at-bats last week. Senior pitcher Reagan Aldridge picked up her first win of the season against Oxford.
