Review, Preview, and Blankets of the Week (Nov. 2)

XC: THS will compete in the 2014 MHSAA state championship in Clinton Saturday.

FOOTBALL: Tupelo (7-3, 3-3) defeated Horn Lake last Friday 42-22. The win keeps THS in the playoff race. THS will travel to Olive Branch Friday for Senior Night. A win gives the Golden Wave a No. 4 seed in the division, a loss would end their season. The pregame show and entire game will be streamed LIVE at

SWIM: Boys swim captured their eight-straight state and 22nd overall program championship yesterday at the Tupelo Aquatic Center. The girls placed second behind Madison Central.

BASKETBALL: Tupelo hosts the NEO Hound Dog Classic Saturday. Lady Wave and Golden Wave basketball battle Madison Central at 5:30 and 7 p.m.

CHEER: Tupelo coed won division at Regionals in Southaven yesterday. The win gives them a bid at Nationals.



  •  Senior swimmer Cris Roberts set a new state record in the 100 fly and also won the 100-backstroke in yesterday’s Class II state championship. She was also part of the winning 400-freestyle relay.
  • Tupelo’s offensive linemen set a high standard in Friday’s 42-22 win over Horn Lake.
