Taylor chooses Arkansas soccer

Katie Taylor had a chance to graduate early last August but she decided to stay and play her senior season with the Lady Wave.

It paid off.

For almost half of the season, Taylor’s Lady Wave soccer squad ranked atop the state’s girls soccer poll. Tupelo finished with only two losses and a 6A north half appearance during the 2014-2015 season.

Head coach Hannah Kimbrough was proud to have Taylor. “I am so happy for Katie,” said Kimbrough. “It is special to have a player sign D-1 college soccer. She is talented but even a better leader and person.”

Taylor carried her team to four-straight division titles, two 6A north half trips, and one 6A state championship trip in Clinton. During her senior campaign, she led her team with 10 goals.

Arkansas soccer finished last season with a record of 9-7-6.
