After a successful 2013 season, a solid spring, and a good showing at the Tupelo Combine, Trent Hammond and Golden Wave football announce their fall football schedule. It includes six home and five away games. No new opponents have been added, only flipped home-away venues.
THS opens the 2014 season in Oxford at Lafayette County August 22nd.
With the new construction of a track and blue turf at Golden Wave Stadium, Tupelo’s field will be officially introduced as Renasant Field Friday, August 29th when Center Hill comes to THS. This kickoffs four-straight home games: Shannon (September 5th), Saltillo (September 12th), and division foe Hernando (September 26th).
Other division games at Grenada (October 3rd), Southaven, (October 10th), DeSoto Central (October 24th), and Olive Branch (November 7th) pose interesting match ups for the Golden Wave.
Tupelo will conclude at home with games against South Panola (October 17th) and Horn Lake (October 31st). Homecoming will more than likely be against the Tigers and Senior Night versus the Eagles. THS snapped a 12 game losing streak to the Tigers after defeating them 12-3 in last year’s North Half title game.
6A playoffs begin November 14th while the championship, which hasn’t decided on a final venue yet, will be December 5th. Oak Grove defeated Tupelo, who finished 13-2, in 2013’s 6A finals 14-7.
Tupelo’s open date will be September 19th.
